Creative VS Productive Project 02

According to Wikipedia there is no certainty as to the origin of the expression "Graveyard Shift".
I think I know where it comes from: One day, a guy was trying to be creative and produce some images just for fun. But by the time all his work and family duties where completed it was always past midnight. :) ... just kidding, it's not that bad.
Hopefully project 3 will have some daylight in it.
Thanks for watching

Creative VS Productive Project 01

At around 10 am today, I had a good picture of what my day was going to be like. That's when I felt the immense task of this "Creative VS Productive" project. The only thought popping through my mind was: "I only need 1 hour of free time". The first thing I realized is that it was already 8 p.m. and I still had not captured any images. I didn't even have a plan.
Then I saw the small fish-tank in our kitchen...

Creative VS Productive

Every year when we get closer to Spring, I get this strong eagerness to find a creative outlet for myself. Not for a client or a project, just for me.
Maybe it's caused by the Fall's busy production schedule or just the lack of sunshine in our grey Okanagan winter sky.
Sadly, the last couple of years I didn't discipline myself to get out and capture some images just for fun; pictures or films just because the subject is so beautiful that it deserves to be captured. Sometimes I feel like a songwriter who would only have time to write jingles for TV commercials.
OK, It's time for me to create images just for my own pleasure. Images that will not be used in any project. This is the end of procrastination, I will produce 15 photos or short videos (unrelated to work) before summer.
See you tomorrow :)

My Young Padawan

Last fall I started to get busy with work to the point where I was going to turn down some interesting contracts. Instead, I decided that it was time for me to ask for help and find someone I could rely on. But finding someone I could trust, that would be as passionate and devoted to the projects as I am seamed impossible. Then I met Joel. He was just hanging out at the Streaming Cafe (waiting for a cute blonde).
When I found out he was 1 month away from graduating from film school, I thought "I should give him a chance". Today I realize that I gave myself a chance. After just a few months, my young Padawan is inspiring me with some creative and imaginative techniques and ideas. "A powerful Jedi in your future I see young one"
Thanks Joel, keep up the good work!
